Personally nothing to shout about this "dori" or street consisting sparing row of old edo period shops / houses or restaurants, the latter catering mostly for tourist. And yes, don't forget to visit Kawagoe famous 16th century " “Bell of Time" or toki-no-kane" in Japanese.

Great day trip away from Tokyo. Kawagoe really earned the name “Little Edo”, because you truly get a feeling of life back in feudal Japan! All of the local shops, restaurants, and vendors go out of the way to being authentic for the area.

I’m going there at night. Every year they display koinobori in this time. This year they display 700 koinobori. The display period is March 26 to may 16. It’s really beautiful.

Taisho Roman Yume Street is full of atmosphere reminiscent of the good old Taisho era. Walking down the street, you can feel the atmosphere of Taisho romance everywhere. There are many unique shops that sell everyday items, special items, souvenirs from Kawagoe sightseeing, and more. This shopping street is often used for TV and movie filming, seeking a Taisho romantic atmosphere. Please come to Kawagoe's Taisho Roman Yume-dori to feel the Taisho Roman breeze.

A street that continues beyond Clair Mall/Renjakucho shopping street. As the name suggests, it is a shopping street with an atmosphere of Taisho era architecture or retro-style buildings that have that atmosphere. Although it is not as well-known as Ichibangai Shopping District, ``Kura no Machi'', this street is made of cobblestones and there is not a lot of car traffic, so you can take a leisurely stroll while admiring the cityscape.

When you think of Kawagoe, you probably think of the streetscape built around warehouses, but this street also has buildings from the Taisho era, giving it a nice atmosphere. Just off this street, you can see the Taisho era mansion and the old Yamazaki family villa, making you feel the depth of Kawagoe's history.
